This topic has been discussed in the chat room a few times. I think that it is a good topic for the message board. The few that I remember are:
1. Chat room, 2. Movies, 3. Music, 4. Internet TV stations...

Please add your suggestions. kmbnii

I think you need besides a good book where you can learn grammar and rules. You must do every day new exercices and compositions.

can be a bit frustrating, but Tv news in the language you're trying to learn. will help with pronunciation and proper use of the language which sometimes is lost in movies.

I have found that most of the live internet TV feeds are for news. A few are bilingual.

it's a good topic ....I think that we must practice to improve our language
so if we find someone to discuss with
it will be good

I found the BBC language web site while doing a search for bilingual web sites. It's looks like a good place to start,(French, Spanish, German, Italian,...), since we don't always have a native speaker to practice with.

Here is one that I had forgotten about. "Word-a-day" web sites. Some will send the word to your email address. It is a good way to increase vocabulary, one word at a time.

Wordsmith (English): http://wordsmith.org/words/today.html

French Word-A-Day:

in my spanish class we didnt speak a whole lot of spanish only wrote it mostly and so in the end, i could write better than i could speak and i couldn't pronounce too many words very well. i have family members and a husband that is mexican and a daughter that is half mexican as well so i really want to learn and i want her to be able to learn correctly. i kept practicing writing it which helped but my sister said if i really wanted to learn the language you need to speak it.

When I read in English I hear the words spoken in my head but when I try to read in French, although I can understand it, I don't get as much out of it because I am unsure about the pronunciation.
In short hearing is vital to the complete understanding of any language

Carry flashcards with the word in the language you want to learn on one side and the language you know on the other. Have them with you wherever you go and you can learn a new word while standing in line waiting, or during TV commercials, or in the doctor's waiting room ... wherever.

Hello Friend,
Glad to know you, How is the day? Guess cool? I'm Sandra, 24 years old and I'm looking for a penpal. A handsome guy to develop a nice relationship with. I love going to internet. I'm very entertained by all the wonderful things I find there. I have blond hair and brown eyes, olive skin and a fit body. Being of American descent, my personality is a bit spicy. One of my favourite things to do is dance! I beleive I was dancing before I could walk!
Its a great way to have fun! I presently live in the USA my country, but I have been fortunate to travel to many places throughout my lifetime. For this reason I guess you could say I have developed an international taste for friendship and therefore look to the internet to meet people of various countries to satisfy my appetite for an international flavour of friends. I work with the United Welfare Organisation, here in the United States and by the special grace of God i shall be visiting Africa for the first time in july, 2006. I'm one of the organizers organizing a combined Youth Conference here in the United States from 20th-23rd july, 2006 and later in Africa from 26th-30th july, 2006. I'm a person who values friendship as the spice of my life. I beleive anything you do will be fun as long as you are doing it with good friends. It would be nice to become friends with you and I will be veryu glad if you can join me on this trip. Hope to read from you soon.Email Add Sandramichael_2007@yahoo.co.uk
Thanx,
Sandra,
U.S.A.
